The status of the Number feature is completely different from that of Gender, Person or Category. Different occurrences of Number in one and the same numeration can make independent contributions to interpretation, as becomes clear from (5):

Thus the Number feature can not be deleted even though Jan has in principle the same Number feature, since deletion would violate PRD.
